A Matter of Life and Death

By Bill Maher

According to a new study from the ACLU, there are over 3,200 Americans serving life without parole for nonviolent crimes. So maybe Kim Jong Un’s not so bad. Of those prisoners, nearly 80 percent are in prison for drug offenses. Sixty-five percent are black (African-Americans are 12 percent of the population.) Latinos are five times more likely to be sentenced to life in federal prison for nonviolent crimes than whites. African-Americans are 20 times more likely.

It takes a deliberate act of self-deception to not see that life without parole is the same as a death sentence, only the method of execution is time. So these are executions. This isn’t how a civilized “Chreeeestian” country should behave.
