To the Republicans calling for military action in Iraq: How do we pay for it?
Even options like “limited air strikes” cost billions of dollars, the kind of money that for years they’ve been claiming we just don’t have.
They say we can’t afford health care, Pell Grants, school lunches, nutrition programs for infants, Food Stamps, Head Start, the post office, maintaining our infrastructure, and at least 15% of our federal workforce. But when it comes to paying for another country’s civil war, they’re like, “When can I sign the blank check?”
