Here's Glenn Beck on the NSA: "It is a Brave New World! It is 1984..."
...it's Beneath the Planet of the Apes! It's Colossus: The Forbin Project! It's How to Stuff a Wild Bikini!
It's fun to imagine what Aldous Huxley would have thought of Glenn Beck. I'll bet it would be about the same as Aldous Huxley finding shit on his shoe.
Huxley: "Propaganda... offers false, garbled or incomplete evidence, avoids logical argument and seeks to influence its victims by the mere repetition of catchwords, by the furious denunciation of foreign or domestic scapegoats, and by cunningly associating the lower passions with the highest ideals, so that atrocities come to be perpetrated in the name of God and the most cynical kind of Realpolitik is treated as a matter of religious principle and patriotic duty."
Gee, Glenn. Sound like anyone you know?
Back to Beck: "Now is the time to stand up because if you do not -- if you want to play the game that this all started with George W. Bush -- I don't care if it started with Jesus... I don't care!"
Glenn Beck doesn't care about Jesus? Well, Glenn is a Mormon. Still, some people get in trouble when they say crap like that. And while we're on the subject, the Bible is pretty clear on warrantless wiretapping: Unless you've got something to hide, quit your bitchin'.
The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion. -Proverbs 28:1.
